Complete SYNC with website, not just incremental translations#57

?

Basically, instead of just adding new translations, and keeping the old ones, even if the original texts are already deleted. So a full sync with the website, what’s been deleted, Weglot deletes it, what’s been edited, Weglot edits it, etc…

I think many people would love this feature. It can even be just an option we can choose : Incremental translations or Full website sync.

Definitely agree this is very important for usability mot just for wrdpress also for Shopify I have to manually remove old juk which is silly, confusing and a waste

Yes, we are looking for a solution but this is not that easy. For example if you unpublish a page from your site, do you want that we remove the translation automatically ? If yes, what if you re publish the page 1 day after, all translation would be lost

Good question,

In this case implement an export import function that allows people to save translations, (csv,…) . You should have this anyway, for example if I pay for pro translations, I will definitely want to search for them and download them all in a single file to preserve my investment.

And also you should have a prefference where the user can select to overwrite manual, overwrite automatic, preserve all, cleanup unused, something like that. Then it’s up to the end user to control this.

The redundnant text in my translations is driving me mad, there has to be a way to at least identify if it is no longer used. The refresh function should at least flag any translaton that does not exist any more so that the user can delete it if they want. The flag should be available to use as a filter to alow bulk deletes based on the flag.
